Habitat: terrestrial in moist, open, acidic bogs,
prairies, pine woods, and roadsides
Common name: Orange Fringeless Orchid, Orange Rein
Orchid
Blooming: July-September
Comments: this species bears a small, compact head
of flowers rarely over 3 inches (7.5 cm) tall. The small golden-yellow, flowers

floral bracts higher up the stem.
